{"id":1361,"date":"2014-11-14T23:43:27","date_gmt":"2014-11-15T05:43:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.supportpro.com\/?p=1361"},"modified":"2019-08-26T04:11:01","modified_gmt":"2019-08-26T10:11:01","slug":"creating-or-removing-scheduled-tasks-cron-in-plesk-windows","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.supportpro.com\/blog\/creating-or-removing-scheduled-tasks-cron-in-plesk-windows\/","title":{"rendered":"Creating or Removing Scheduled Tasks (cron) in Plesk (windows)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Some scripts\/applications require certain scripts be run at a certain time to function properly.<\/p>\n<p>On Windows servers, we can set them up to run at certain times by creating a scheduled task (which is similar to how you can run cron jobs on Linux servers).<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Creating a Scheduled Task in Plesk:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>We can set up Scheduled Tasks in Plesk by doing the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Log into Plesk<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The user you are logging in with should have enough permissions to create a scheduled task. Windows Shared customers automatically have permission, and the Admin user for Windows Dedicated Servers automatically have permission. Additional users created by the Admin on a Windows Dedicated Server may or may not have permission to set up scheduled tasks, depending on what permissions you give them.<!--more--><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Click on the Websites &amp; Domains tab.<\/li>\n<li>Click on Show Advanced Operations (a small grey link in the middle of the page), if the advanced options are not already shown.<\/li>\n<li>Click on Scheduled Tasks.<\/li>\n<li>Select the appropriate system user.<\/li>\n<li>Click on Schedule New Task.<\/li>\n<li>Fill out the form as follows:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&gt;&gt;<strong>Switched On<\/strong>: Check the box to turn on the scheduled task.<\/p>\n<p>&gt;&gt;<strong>Description<\/strong>: A short description to remind you what this scheduled task does.<\/p>\n<p>&gt;&gt;<strong>Scheduler Notification<\/strong>: If you want an email every time this runs, select the appropriate option, otherwise select Do Not Send. You may provide an email address where you want the notifications sent to.<\/p>\n<p>&gt;&gt;<strong>Path to the executable file<\/strong>: Specify the path to the file you wish to execute.
