This improves the performance of your server and the reliability of your e-mail delivery.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Exim Server (Forwarding Server)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>This server will be forwarding all emails to the SmartHost for relay for final delivery. If you are not using cPanel \/ WHM, then you will simply edit &#8216;\/etc\/exim.conf&#8217; instead of using cPanel \/ WHM&#8217;s interface. However, if the server is running cPanel \/ WHM you must edit the configuration file through the GUI as cPanel \/ WHM will revert your changes automatically over time.<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\n&gt;&gt; Edit Exim Configuration and add &#8220;smart_route:&#8221; details below the section labeled &#8220;<strong>ROUTERSTART<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&gt;&gt; Restart Exim Server<\/p>\n<p>After the above configuration is saved, the Exim service should automatically restart. However, if it doesn&#8217;t you may restart it via command line manually:<\/p>\n<p><em>\/scripts\/restartsrv_exim<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Or<\/p>\n<p><em>\/etc\/init.d\/exim restart<\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Postfix Server (SmartHost)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Postfix is a free and open-source mail transfer agent (MTA) that routes and delivers electronic mail, intended as an alternative to the widely-used Sendmail MTA.
