While accessing phpMyAdmin, you may get the following error.<\/p>\n

#2002 – The server is not responding (or the local MySQL server’s socket is not correctly configured) <\/em><\/p>\n

This is due to the missing socket file in the location \/tmp.<\/p>\n

The socket path which is specified in the phpMyAdmin configuration file is \/tmp\/mysql.sock.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

$ vi \/usr\/local\/cpanel\/base\/3rdparty\/phpMyAdmin\/config.inc.php
\ncfg[‘Server’][‘socket’]\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 = ‘\/tmp\/mysql.sock’;
\nIf mysql.sock is missing in \/tmp, then create a link to the mysql.sock file in \/var\/lib\/mysql.
\n$ ln -s \/var\/lib\/mysql\/mysql.sock \/tmp\/mysql.sock<\/p>\n

There is also another fix for this issue.<\/p>\n

1. Open the phpMyadmin config file “config.inc.php”.<\/p>\n

vi \/usr\/local\/cpanel\/base\/3rdparty\/phpMyAdmin\/config.inc.php<\/p>\n

2.Locate the line:<\/p>\n

$cfg[‘Servers’][$i][‘host’]\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 = ‘localhost’;<\/p>\n

3.Replace ‘localhost’ with ‘127.0.0.1’ and save.<\/p>\n

$cfg[‘Servers’][$i][‘host’]\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 = ‘127.0.0.1’;<\/p>\n

This will also fix the issue.<\/p>\n
