You can create new ones with desired size too and write and quit.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>3. create file system for the parttion<br \/>\n#mkfs.ext3 \/dev\/sda&lt;1,2,3&gt;<br \/>\ncreate the the filesystem in that partition.<\/p>\n<p>4. partprobe<br \/>\n#partprobe this is to write the partition with the filesystem that we have selected, or you can also reboot the server for accomplishing this. to prevent rebooting in case of server run this command.<\/p>\n<p>5. mount<br \/>\nmount \/dev\/sd&#8230;. location<br \/>\nthis will mount the desired location to the partition.<br \/>\n#df -h this will show the partitioned drive and the location mounted.<\/p>\n<p>6. fstab<br \/>\nnow give the entry in the \/etc\/fstab and save and quit.
