cPanel- New Pricing Structure and Related Concerns

cPanel had introduced different Tiers for the customers.

1. Solo: Only one hosting account is allowed and it is suitable for small businesses.

2. Admin: This package can create only 5 accounts and it is suitable for middle-level business members.

3. Pro: This package is created for mid-level and growing companies and it can include 30 accounts.

4. Premier: This package is suitable for large level business persons.

The new cPanel plans are suitable for new customers who are starting a new business or hosting a new site. The existing customers who are using the cPanel is currently rethinking the continuity with cPanel, the reason being the new license system is forcefully requesting customers to reduce the count of the existing domains according to the plan purchased or they need to upgrade the plan as per the customers requirements.

The cPanel billing cycle has switched to monthly. The cPanel existing users need to purchase suitable plans from the new package. The cPanel end-user needs to delete unwanted domains for meeting the requirements of the selected plans. If the number of licenses is reached and if additional domains are restored from the backup to the server, this will also end up in exceeding the limit. This will affect the functioning of cPanel and WHM. The cPanel and WHM will be activated once the accounts are restricted to the existing package.

The cPanel accounts can be migrated to another web panel like DirectAdmin, Plesk, Webmin. Before the migration process, the customer should ensure that the existing cPanel is working in order to fetch the resources from the server. Also, you can use the backup of the cPanel accounts for the migration process. Once the migration process is completed, you can verify the domains by adding the new server IP address in the localhosts file in your local computer.

The migration process is a big task and it should ensure that the entire data is migrated from the existing server to the new server.
