The Cloudflare integration on RunCloud provides several benefits, including SSL DNS validation, DNS manager, and DNS integration. These features simplify website security management and DNS configuration, making the process more efficient and time-saving.
How to Connect Cloudflare to RunCloud
To connect your RunCloud account with Cloudflare, you’ll need to add Cloudflare’s API keys to RunCloud.
Log into your Cloudflare account and find the “Get your API token” option in the dashboard, or go directly to https://dash.cloudflare.com/profile/api-tokens.
On the next screen, you’ll find your existing tokens and the option to create new ones.
Click the “Create Token” button to generate a new API key. Then, select a template—using the “Edit Zone DNS” template is a good starting point.
When configuring the token, ensure it has the following permissions:
- Account Settings: Read
- DNS: Edit
- Zone: Edit
Refer to the screenshot below to confirm the correct settings.
Next, choose the appropriate account and zone resources. You also have the option to enable IP filtering or set an expiration date for the key.
Note: If the key expires, you will need to manually update it again in the RunCloud dashboard.
On the next screen, you will see a summary of the permissions you specified. Review all settings carefully before creating the token. The token will only be displayed once—do not close this screen until the integration is complete.
Once the token is created, open the RunCloud dashboard, go to your account settings, and navigate to the Integration tab to locate Cloudflare.
When you select Cloudflare, a new screen will appear. Here, you can enter a descriptive label for the token, which will be visible in the RunCloud dashboard. This label helps you differentiate between multiple accounts if you have multiple keys added.
Next, enter the email address associated with your Cloudflare account and add the API token generated in the previous step.
After filling in all the fields, click Test Integration to ensure everything is working correctly. If successful, a confirmation message will appear at the top of your screen.
Then, click Save Integration to complete the process and begin managing your DNS.
